Do You Get Paid for Being in a Clinical Research Study?

If you would like to help researchers develop new aesthetic techniques, you should think about participating in a study at DeNova Research in Chicago, IL. During our study, you might be able to receive a cosmetic treatment or procedure. In addition, you might receive compensation for the costs that you incur while you are participating in our clinical research study.

Do You Get Paid for Being in a Clinical Research Study?

When you participate in a clinical study, you may be paid for your travel expenses and other costs. For example, we might compensate you for the expenses that you incur when you drive to our research site in Chicago.

The payment that you receive will depend on the size of the clinical study, the type of treatments and procedures that we are researching, and several other variables. When you enroll in one of our studies, we will tell you more about our compensation structure.

What Types of Treatments or Procedures Can You Receive?

You can receive a wide variety of aesthetic treatments or procedures when you enroll in one of our research studies. For example, we have studied fillers, intense pulsed light treatments, and radiofrequency devices. In addition, we have conducted studies about laser resurfacing treatments, cosmeceuticals, facial implants, and ultrasound devices. We have also studied cellulite, wrinkles, acne, and other skin conditions.

Who Is Eligible To Participate in a Research Study?

Since our studies involve different aesthetic treatments, products, and procedures, our eligibility requirements will vary. You may be eligible for a study about a cellulite treatment if you have this skin condition. In contrast, you might be a good candidate for a study about dermal fillers if you have wrinkles on your face.

That said, some health conditions may prevent you from enrolling in a study. For example, if you are suffering from diabetes, have a bleeding disorder, or another medical issue, you might not be able to participate in certain research studies.

How Can You Sign Up for a Research Study?

If you are interested in participating in a study, you should sign up for our patient database. You shouldn’t feel upset or disappointed if you are not able to take part in our current studies. We regularly begin new clinical trials and research studies. If we think that you might be eligible for one of our new studies, we may contact you about this opportunity.

What Will Happen After You Sign Up for a Research Study?

Your experience will depend on the type of treatment or procedure that we are studying. That said, there are some general steps that you will probably follow after you express interest in a research study.

Attending an Initial Consultation

After you sign up for one of our clinical research studies, we will set up an initial meeting with you. To ensure that you meet the requirements of our study, we will review your medical background. During this discussion, we will discuss any chronic medical issues that you have and talk about the aesthetic treatments and techniques that you’ve used in the past.

If you are eligible for our study, we let you know more about the cosmetic treatment or procedure that we are studying. We will also explain the rules and requirements that you will need to follow during the next several weeks. For example, if you are going to receive a cosmetic procedure, you might be required to stop taking certain supplements for awhile. In addition, you might be required to go to several appointments at our research site.

Signing Up

You will be able to discuss your concerns and ask us detailed questions after you qualify for one of our studies. If you decide to participate, you can sign paperwork and officially enroll in our study.

Receiving Your Treatment or Procedure

The next steps will depend on the subject of our clinical research study. For example, if you enroll in a study about wrinkles, you might receive dermal fillers or another injectable treatment.

Alternatively, you might try a new laser treatment or receive a cosmetic procedure. If you get a procedure, you may need to plan for time away from your job while you are recovering from your appointment. In addition, you might be required to avoid intense exercise and follow other rules for a couple of weeks.

Completing the Study

After you receive your procedure or treatment, you may need to visit our research site in Chicago for follow-up meetings. During your appointments, we might ask you to discuss your feelings about the changes in your skin, figure, or other your cosmetic improvements. In addition, we may conduct a physical examination, draw your blood, or perform other diagnostic tests.
